In “True Tokyo”, CNN sports anchor and correspondent Coy Wire embarks on a journey to trace his family roots in 'True Tokyo', a special two-part series. The former professional football player, who grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, travels to Tokyo to learn more about the art, food, and music scene in Japan's capital.
With this project, I wanted to showcase the footage shot on location with the talent, while also emphasizing the social media aspect of the program in a dynamic way. I used photo filters and iconography to convey a modern, connected feeling to this fresh take on a travel show.
Above are a few of the logo options I created. I ended up using the polaroid frame in the final animation, separate from the logo. Everything comes back around!
This was my initial mood board: showing the photo frame larger than life on location. This idea evolved a bit to get to the final product, so it’s interesting to see where it came from originally.
