One of the largest projects of 2018 was the royal wedding, titled “The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle”. I was the principal designer for this project, which aired on three networks—CNN Domestic, CNN International, and CNN Espanol.
This wedding represented many departures from the typical British royal wedding, with an American bride and a very forward thinking modern couple. As such, I did not want to create the typical royal graphics package.
In a fresh color palette of creams, pinks, and rose gold, paper flowers with golden accents bring the chapel to life on screen, leading to an elegant wedding invitation to share the special day with the couple. Soft toned 3D paper sculptural flowers and cathedral fan vaulted ceilings lead to a thick white/blush card stock invitation. Gold foil accents emphasize the regal aspect. This is a non-traditional royal wedding concept for a non-traditional royal couple.
This dynamic package look cascades through animations, on-air elements (lower thirds, graphics templates), and set graphics. Custom audio that blends the traditional with the modern completes the package. All in all, a massive success!
